Before this series began, Flyers center Danny Briere said he would not be surprised if Ryan Miller stole a game or two. Thanks to a remarkable save on his former teammate, Miller has already met his quota. With about eight minutes remaining in the game and the Sabres frantically clinging to a one-goal lead, Briere was left all alone in front of Miller. Briere tried a backhand-to-forehand move that Miller read perfectly, snatching Briere's shot out of the air to preserve the lead.
Game 5 is set for Friday in Philadelphia, with Game 6 slated for Buffalo on Easter Sunday. (More in philadelphia flyers jerseys )
The Flyers are hoping right wing Jeff Carter can return for Game 5. He injured his right knee in a first-period collision with Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers and did not return for the remainder of Game 4.
There is also an outside chance the Flyers will get defenseman Chris Pronger back for Game 5. The 36-year-old veteran has been sidelined since March 8 with a broken right hand. I just see how desperate this team is to get Pronger back as soon as possible. He is the style player that sets an early tone in a game and can't just deflate a team's hopes of being successful on any given night. Flyers fans will see No. 20 back on the ice to try and lead this team in the right direction. With Pronger healthy and ready to play, Philly's only chance of not being successful is if they do not allow themselves to be. This team will only be limited by their own will and determination.
In their history the Flyers are 13-7 in series that are tied after four games. Friday night will be crucial for the Flyers. They are 17-2 when taking a 3-2 series lead and 2-14 when falling behind 3-2.
