Why is Basic Finance not a College requirement?

With all of the necessary "core" classes students are required to take at universities all around the country, it's absolutely absurd that basic finance is not one of them. While I think history and science are important, there is no doubt that having a little knowledge about money is vital to be a well-rounded college graduate and responsible person.
