Airport Car Parkz had a eventful summer in 2011. Things didn't always go easily but we recovered well and continued to offer a competitive safe airport parking assistance to passengers at London Luton Airport. Returning fliers would have seen some improvements to Airport Car Parkz Park and Ride service. The ageing Transit mini buses were replaced by a fleet of 17 seater Mercedes Benz 811 vehicles that offer a more leisurely relocation to and from the Luton Airport terminal. New traffic-easing layouts around the terminal and its approaches have made it feasible for us to offer a more suitable transfer schedule. Early travellers will recollect the traffic disorder some mornings and following delays caused by entering and exiting vehicles crossing over at the terminal roundabout. Airport planners came up with a solution that sends all traffic across the parimeter of the short term car park which has improved the flow in that area at least. A new designated Meet and Greet area was also provided although it has proved to be confusing for a few customers and annoying for one or two others. Yet our courtesy transfer busses continue to run 24 hours a day at 10-15 minute intervals. In busy periods, if all the waiting passengers are not able get on one bus they will not normally be kept waiting more than 15 minutes. Drivers are conscious of their turnaround times and will try to accommodate passengers even when some are mostly bullish or seek to skip queues. Even with this fortunately rare stampede mentality, which has been difficult for our bus drivers to control previously, it remains to be a good service that attracts favourable remarks from various customers. Recent customers will have observed further enhancements to the secure car parking area. They will have observed new parimeter fencing and a security barrier to ensure better control of vehicles entering or leaving the secure area. New security cameras provide round-the-clock surveillance of all activity in the car park and will log the registration numbers of all vehicles. Airport Car Parkz continues to grow by improving both our Park & Ride and Meet & Greet Luton airport parking services and by providing a safer, more secure premises to guard your vehicle while you're gone.
